What's the difference between the Newbie and Starter plans?

Newbie: Designed purely for learning BGP. You get an assigned internal ASN and can only use this for educational purposes. Great for certification prep or understanding BGP fundamentals.

Starter: Suitable for home labs and testing with the option to use either an internal ASN or bring your own public ASN. Can be used for light production use.

What's the difference between Internal and Public ASN?

Internal ASN: RFC 6996 private-use ASNs (64512-65534) provided by Multihopix for learning and testing. These are not routed on the global internet.

Public ASN: Globally unique ASN obtained from a regional internet registry (ARIN, RIPE, APNIC, etc.). Required for production internet routing and announcing your own IP blocks globally.

Do I need my own ASN and IP block?

For Newbie plan: No. We assign you an internal ASN and provide 1 static IP.

For other plans with Public ASN: Yes, you must have a registered public ASN and at least a /24 IPv4 block (256 addresses) from your regional RIR. You'll also need a valid LOA (Letter of Authorization).

For other plans with Internal ASN: No, we provide the internal ASN and IP addresses.

Can I upgrade from Newbie to Starter or higher?

Yes! You can upgrade at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately. If you want to bring your own public ASN, you'll need to have it registered before upgrading.

What happens if I exceed my bandwidth limit?

Additional bandwidth can be purchased in 100Mbps increments for $25/month each. We'll notify you before any overage charges apply.

Is there a setup fee?

No setup fees for any plan! You only pay the monthly subscription and any add-ons you choose.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit cards, ACH transfers, and wire transfers.
